National Certifications

The West Group was the first company in the Offshore Industrial Training sector in Brazil to be certified in accordance to ISO 9001:2000 and being audited by the ABNT at this time. Recently has obtained its re-certification (ISO 9001:2008) by a renowned international agency DNV. Undoubtedly, the privilege to be recognized by both is something that makes reference to our company with regarding to compliance of technical standards, which certifies the quality of the training offered.

International Certifications

The West Group has the certification of the DPC – Department of Ports and Coasts/ Brazilian Navy, for the course of CBSP (Security in Platform Basic Course), and also for the course of GMDSS – Maritime Safety and Aid Global System. Both courses, recognized in the entire world, are also accepted by Petrobras and certified by the Panamanian Maritime Authority.

The West Group is associated with IADC – International Association of Drilling Contractors is the forum for all oil & gas drilling industry stakeholders to connect, share knowledge, tackle common problems, and develop solutions to critical issues.

Our Training Center is recognized and accredited by the Panamanian Maritime Authority, thus it is regularly inspected by this well-known and respected authority

In order to continuously improve our processes, products and services with internationally recognized standards, we are certified in accordance to the Marshall Islands training flag certification in our training.

Seeking excellence in our services, we served a renowned international certification: Liberian flag.
The quest for continuous improvement is our goal and certification by the flag of Liberia supports us to minister training more international recognition.

Associations

The West Group is associated with NFPA – National Fire Protection Association, a world authority on fire prevention, fire fighting and procedures for work with high risk.

CadFor consists of a set of information about national suppliers, made in a single database, available to all Sponsors. CadFor uses clear and objectives evaluation procedures of suppliers based on five criteria, Legal, Financial, Technical, HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) and Managerial/Social Responsibility, to assess the ability of companies to produce goods and services and thus join the CadFor. Each set of criteria requirements unfolds in a universe of generating data.

The National Organization of the Petroleum Industry– ONIP – is a national institution whose purpose is to act as the main forum for coordination and cooperation between the companies of exploration, production, refining, processing, transportation and distribution of Petroleum and its products, suppliers of goods and services in the oil sector, government bodies and agencies, thereby contributing to increase global competitiveness of the sector.

Adopted references

The reference to West Group is IMO – International Maritime Organization, and the STCW-95, which is an international training standard for seafarers.

Our training programs strictly follow the international standards determined by OSHA – Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
